The House Appropriations Committee pondered Gov. Rick Scott’s proposed budget Thursday afternoon and began the long, difficult process of crafting a budget despite a large shortfall.

After unveiling his proposed $65.8 billion budget in Eustis, Gov. Rick Scott headed back to Tallahassee to talk to the media while reaction poured in from leaders all across the state.

Gov.-elect Rick Scott spent Sunday night at the Governor’s Mansion, up early enough to walk his dog Reagan, a yellow labrador, around the grounds. Reagan was obtained from a shelter during the campaign.
