While Florida continues to adjust to being led by newly inaugurated Gov. Rick Scott, the new executive continues to flesh out his administration.

Take a good look at the Florida Main Street program. It's sneaky clever. It's all about preserving the character and vitality of decaying downtowns -- and that would be reason enough to love it -- but here's the big bonus:  It pumps cash like a wildcat well into all 50 Main Street communities.

Elected on the promise of creating 700,000 new jobs, incoming Gov. Rick Scott was handed an economic development blueprint last week that cuts business taxes and expands corporate financial incentives, but casts a dim eye toward the more than 1 million Floridians out of work.

The Florida TEA Party claims that two of its candidates who were bounced from the fall ballot were victims of "ticky-tack technicalities" at the state Division of Elections.

James Ferentinos and Marshall DeRosa "did not name a depository as required by statute," said Jennifer Krell Davis, communications director for the Florida Department of State.
