As Washington continued to ponder military options in the Middle East, including getting more active in Iraq, U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., a possible Republican presidential candidate in 2016, took to the national stage to weigh in on the matter. Rubio appeared on Sean Hannity’s show on Fox News on Wednesday night and called for America to use air power to hinder ISIL’s supply routes in Iraq.

Hillary Clinton-Charlie Crist 2016? Speaking to the Republican Club of the Palm Beaches this week, Florida Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam sounded the alarm to the GOP faithful, insisting the former governor and new Democrat could be on Clinton’s shortlist if he beats Gov. Rick Scott in November.

This week, U.S. Rep. Ted Yoho, R-Fla., faced fire both right and left for comments he made at the Berean Baptist Church in Ocala during the 2012 campaign. In a video that surfaced this week, Yoho said he was open to the idea of limiting voting to property owners.

Surrogates are increasingly playing prominent roles in the Florida gubernatorial contest. Looking to win members of his new party over to him, former Gov. Charlie Crist had former state Sen. Dan Gelber out front this week, hitting Gov. Rick Scott for cutting education. The Crist team sent out an email from Gelber to supporters on Wednesday trying to rally Democrats against Scott on education.

Time to put the kibosh on talk that Adam Hollingsworth, Gov. Rick Scott’s chief of staff, will run against Jacksonville Mayor Alvin Brown in 2015. Reports emerged this week that Hollingsworth is selling his house in Jacksonville to continue his career in Tallahassee.
