Lawton “Bud” Chiles III made it official Thursday, pulling the plug on his gubernatorial campaign and endorsing Democratic gubernatorial candidate Alex Sink.
Lagging in the polls and now running short on cash, Attorney General Bill McCollum’s campaign came out guns a-blazing Monday, attacking health-care executive Rick Scott, its candidate's chief rival for the Republican gubernatorial nomination, for suing the state in an attempt to change campaign finance laws.
Rick Scott, the health-care executive running in a highly contested battle for the Republican gubernatorial nomination, launched a lawsuit Wednesday in Tallahassee's U.S. District Court, looking to challenge state campaign finance laws that would benefit Attorney General Bill McCollum, his chief rival for the GOP nod.
