Virtually all of Florida's largest business organizations are lobbying the Florida Legislature this session to make customers of online retailers pay a sales tax, same as Main Street's bricks-and-mortar customers do.

If the Florida Legislature wants to pound another nail in the coffin of the middle class during this long recession, it can go ahead with the ill-conceived idea of eliminating tax-free Internet shopping.

There are silly bills and then there are the bat-crazy, dangerous, shoot-it-before-it-reaches-the-border bills. SB 1560 fits nicely into the latter category.
