Meghan McCain, the outspoken daughter of U.S. Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., is on “Team Jeb.” Speaking with Larry King on “Politicking” on Ora.TV, McCain said she was backing former Gov. Jeb Bush, R-Fla, for the Republican presidential nomination in 2016. While her father is on the sidelines, he has encouraged his ally U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., to enter the presidential primaries.

Despite lawmakers’ rejection of two earlier Public Service Commission nominees for lacking experience in the field, on Tuesday Gov. Charlie Crist continued a move to put outsiders on the panel, appointing West Palm Beach city official Eduardo Balbis and former city of Tampa attorney Julie Brown to the commission.

After roughly a month in legislative limbo, an attempt to have businesses report their recycling rates was drastically scaled back Wednesday.

Lawmakers on the Senate Community Affairs Committee unanimously voted to approve SB 570, Sen. Lee Constantine’s attempt to make the state recycle 75 percent of its solid waste by 2020.

“I really do think we can be the leader in recycling, and it will create jobs,” said the Altamonte Springs Republican.
