A newly formed group of conservatives called “America’s President Committee” kicked off a petition drive Monday to get U.S. Rep. Mike Pence of Indiana into the race for the Republican presidential nomination.
The Florida Republican Party said Saturday it is considering suing Gov. Charlie Crist and the GOP’s former leadership team for hundreds of thousands of dollars in party spending that a new audit has shown was unnecessary.
Continuing his stunning -- some say long overdue -- fall from grace, former state GOP chairman Jim Greer was assailed by a Republican National Committee spokesman on Thursday.
The Republican National Committee selected Tampa on Wednesday to be the site of the Republican National Convention in 2012. Tampa beat out Phoenix and Salt Lake City to host the event.
The convention will be held the week of Aug. 27 in the St. Pete Times Forum, which seats more than 21,000 and is the home of the Tampa Bay Lightning hockey team.
