In one of the most closely watched U.S. House races in the nation, Republican Daniel Webster now holds a 7-point lead over Democratic Rep. Alan Grayson in Central Florida's 8th Congressional District, according to a new Sunshine State News Poll.
Of three of the biggest political names in Florida, only one -- former Gov. Charlie Crist -- has a favorable rating topping 40 percent, according to a new Sunshine State News poll.
Dogged by rising negative poll numbers and a mocking press, real-estate mogul Donald Trump announced Monday that he would not be a candidate for president in 2012.
Charlie Crist is gone but his “no labels” movement is alive and well and flourishing at the Capitol like a clump of mushrooms in a ditch after the storm. We can thank Jack Latvala for that.

In one of his first official acts as U.S. senator, Marco Rubio, R-Fla., joined six other Republican senators on a fact-finding trip to Afghanistan and Pakistan. The idea is to see firsthand the effect of U.S. involvement in the region.

According to Sunshine State News' nightly tracking poll, in the U.S. Senate race independent Charlie Crist has lost 2 percentage points since the surveys began Oct. 13. Meanwhile, Republican Marco Rubio has padded his lead by 4 points and Democrat Kendrick Meek has picked up a point.
After weeks of trying to get Alex Sink to answer questions about her own accountability in the much-ballyhooed Tallahassee Taj Mahal, Sink and her campaign finally allowed the question after a rally at Palm Beach State College in Lake Worth.
