Perhaps the most significant and disappointing theme that has run through not only my decades in politics, but my years afterward as a pollster and analyst, has been the GOP's increasing tendency to shy away from anyone or anything that is bold or unique.
In coming days, Mitt Romney will be taking a page from the gameplan of a winning presidential candidate when he visits crucial battleground states on a bus tour. The gameplan first was carried out by Democratic candidate Bill Clinton in 1992.

Public Policy Polling, a firm with ties to Democrats, released a poll this week that showed President Barack Obama maintaining a healthy lead in Minnesota over possible Republican candidates.
Prominent business leaders are entering political races all across Florida, a reflection of voter discontent and continuing concern about the state’s poor economy and high unemployment rate.
