Gov. Rick Scott unveiled his plan to reform the state’s employee pension system in Naples Tuesday, promising $2.8 billion in savings over the next two years.

Sen. Jeremy Ring, D-Margate, said Wednesday he is waiting for facts before he begins crafting legislation on pension reform -- but in the debate so far, both sides claim they have "facts" on their side.

Facing the possibility of a $3.5 billion budget shortfall, some state senators see the state employee pension plan as ripe for the plucking.
