The Campaign for Working Families PAC (CWF), led by former Republican presidential candidate Gary Bauer, placed former House Speaker Dan Webster in its “Candidate Spotlight” on Wednesday. Webster is the Republican candidate challenging Democratic U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson.
“Daniel Webster is running in Florida’s 8th Congressional District, taking on liberal loudmouth Alan Grayson,” wrote the CWF staff on their website. “You may recall that Grayson made headlines during the health care debate for saying that Republicans want sick people to ‘die quickly.’
“Grayson continued to display an utter lack of grace during this year’s campaign for Congress,” continued the CWF. “He ran despicable ads comparing Dan Webster’s Christian values to the Taliban and accusing him of being unpatriotic due to his lack of military service. (Webster was disqualified from service due to medical issues.)
“Even the liberal media came to Webster’s defense,” continued the CWF. “In fact, Grayson’s attacks were so over-the-top, that the Orlando Sentinel endorsed Dan Webster, calling Grayson’s antics an ‘embarrassment to his district’ that have contributed to the ‘dysfunctional’ environment in the Democrat-dominated Congress.
“Daniel Webster is a solid pro-family, pro-life conservative who has represented the citizens of Central Florida with distinction,” concluded the CWF. “He is a true public servant who will restore honor to the office. CWF is proud to endorse Dan Webster.”
