Who was the last speaker? He was completely talking out of both sides of his mouth. On one hand, it is okay for the Seminoles to generate $250 m for the state via casino gaming, but it is wrong for the state to pursue avenues which would dwarf that number? Brining in more casinos doesn't threaten the existing Seminole properties, as they are established brands with like clientele. This is 100% about Disney protecting their investment. They talk about the brand of FL, but did they miss the '80s with Miami Vice and Scarface? Oh wait, they meant the brand of DISNEY! These politicians are terrible. For every study they can find to say that casinos will harm the state, I can find one that says it will improve the state. Their old templates of Vegas and Atlantic City don't jive anymore because they are completely different environments. The model to look at is Tunica, MS, where it has helped an area go from hopeless to employed. Florida needs to buy a clue, and fast.
