Thrasher: 'Crist has been gone for a while'

Sen. John Thrasher, Republican Party of Florida Chairman, denounced Gov. Charlie Crist for his decision to abandon the GOP and run for U.S. Senate without a party.
"He's disingenuous. He's not stood by his commitments. He's not stood by his convictions that he's so proud of," said Thrasher.
Still, he said, Crist's choice to leave reflect a pattern of behavior the governor's been displaying for some time now with some of the decisions he's made.
"He's been gone a long time in my opinion. And this just kind of makes it official," he said.
Thrasher said the next step will be taking down the governor's picture from RPOF headquarters and selling it on eBay. Then, come Monday, he plans to get on with the business of getting Republicans elected to office.
