We started FloridaOil.org to propose our own constitutional amendment, but something we heard from thousands of people who signed our petitions is that they would prefer to accomplish the goals without changing the Constitution. The Constitution should be reserved to preserve rights, not take them away or “grant” them.

Last week, Florida and a dozen other states asked the federal courts to measure the new health care law against the Constitution's requirements. In the simplest of terms, this new law is an unprecedented and unconstitutional expansion of federal power that will cost Florida taxpayers billions of dollars.

In Florida this week, the Senate passed Senator Don Gaetz's jobs bill. A good bill we should all support. It has a significant price tag so it will not be easy.
