Jeb Bush's Challenge

WASHINGTON -- The human kindling that makes up the flammable Republican base may soon burst into flames, again. Portions of that excitable cohort are looking -- some with fawn-like eyes filled with hurt, others with sparks shooting from eyes narrowed like gun slits -- askance at other Republicans urging Jeb Bush to seek the 2016 presidential nomination.

A candidacy by Florida's former governor would be desirable. But if Republicans want to avoid intra-party carnage, they should be very careful about doing what The Washington Post recently reported: "Many of the Republican Party's most powerful insiders and financiers have begun a behind-the-scenes campaign to draft former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush into the 2016 presidential race."

How "behind the scenes" is an enterprise reported on the Post's front page? And what does "draft" mean? No shrinking violet will be nominated. The last time there was anything like a draft was the nomination of Illinois Gov. Adlai Stevenson in 1952, whose acceptance speech to the Democratic convention contained cringe-inducing treacle:

"I would not seek your nomination for the presidency, because the burdens of that office stagger the imagination. ... I have asked the Merciful Father -- the Father of us all -- to let this cup pass from me, but from such dread responsibility one does not shrink in fear, in self-interest, or in false humility. So, 'If this cup may not pass from me, except I drink it, Thy will be done.'"

American voters showed what they thought of the reluctant Stevenson posing as the crucified Jesus, saying in effect: "You don't want to be president? We can help you with that." He lost 39 of the then 48 states.

It would not be a moral failing for Bush to decide against enduring the marathon gantlet of presidential politics. He will not, however, have the nomination handed to him on a silver salver. And the nomination fight would be especially bruising because Bush has been admirably forthright, but certainly impolitic, about two divisive issues -- immigration and the "Common Core" national education standards for grades K through 12.

He wisely favors immigration reform responsive to the needs of the U.S. workforce and the realities of the 12 million who are not here legally but are neither going to "self-deport" or be deported. His enthusiasm for the Common Core is misplaced but conservatives, in judging it, should judge Bush with a generosity he has earned by his exemplary record as an education reformer favoring school choice.

Unfortunately, there are too many Republicans who, honing their knives and lengthening their lists of unforgivable heresies, seem to derive more satisfaction from burning Republicans at the stake than from defeating Democrats. And there are too many other Republicans who think their task is to save the party from its base of principled activists.

Bush is fluent in Spanish and accomplished at courting the approximately 17 percent of the Florida electorate that is Hispanic: He received 61 percent of their votes in 1998 and almost that much in 2002. The time is ripe for Republicans to do as well with Hispanics as Jeb Bush's brother did in 2000. Political analyst Michael Barone writes in the Washington Examiner:

"By my estimate, about one-third of the homeowners foreclosed on in the years just after the housing price collapse were Hispanics." And since the Obamacare rollout, during which the Spanish-language version of the website was completely inoperative for weeks, "the president's job approval has declined more among Hispanics -- 23 percentage points -- than among any other demographic group." It should be possible for Republicans to find a nominee who can do as well as George W. Bush did in winning 40 percent of the Hispanic vote in 2004.

Republicans cannot be too frequently reminded that their problem in presidential politics is the "blue wall" -- the 18 states and the District of Columbia that have voted Democratic in at least six consecutive elections, and have 242 electoral votes. So Republicans should welcome to their nomination competition any candidate who might remove from the blue wall such bricks as Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

Bush, burdened by a damaged family brand, might not be the best potential nominee on the deep Republican bench. He does, however, deserve a respectful hearing from the Republican nominating electorate. He will not get this if he allows himself to become perceived as -- if his supporters present him as -- the choice of fastidious Republicans who think the party's base is the party's problem.

We don't need another bush in the White House. Charter schools are just the tip of the iceberg. JC, thanks for the Bush bio, you are spot on.
GW SR. helped the rise of cocaine in the world during the Vietnam War as head of the CIA. Jr. us got in a war based on alleged Bogus Info (WMD) and went after Osama BL because he threatened GW SR. Every Bush agenda is solely for their benefit ! By the way, what happened to the $ 15 Million federal loan Jeb got that his father forgave without a penny paid? Jeb insured his big bro's presidential election. The Bush family has over stayed it's welcome in Politics. Their time has gone!

"when Bush 43 was VP under Reagan" SHOULD HAVE READ "when Bush 41 was VP under Reagan"

If the Bushes really cared about the USA instead of their family dynasty (including both the Clinton’s and the Obama’s) why didn’t either one of them have a vice president that was capable of succeeding them in the oval office? Bush 41 had Dan Quale who couldn’t even spell “potato” with putting an “e’ on it!

Bush 43 of course had the old family war monger and former Halliburton executive Dick Cheney who was in and out of the hospital for “stints” but who finally even at his ripe old age acquired a new heart. Neither of their Vice President’s were capable of assuming the office of president.

Don’t you just know that if a persons real feelings come from their heart, this heart wonders what its doing in the likes of Dick Cheney? Remember the "Highway of Death" was littered with hundreds of vehicles, they forgot to mention all the bodies as well. Then Cheney become the Vice president of the USA and we were right back in Iraq. Billions of dollars wasted and thousands of lives destroyed. Maybe the dead was he lucky ones, look at those who come home maimed for life, and for the most part the government is through with them with a; sorry about your luck, just go on with your life attitude.
The Bushes have been war profiteers since Samuel Bush and his Remington Arms Company began selling arms for warring nations to both sides when possible. His son Prescott (Father of GHWB) with his Walker Family Wall Street Bank and the help of their Rockefeller connections financed the build up of Hitler’s Nazi regime from 1939 until after the US was at war with Hitler. These are documented facts available through the Library of Congress as hard as the Bushes have tried to hide this stuff it’s still there. Bush 43 and his CIA connections are likewise well documented including documents he signed regarding that dark day in Dallas.

But, Jeb Bush also has plenty of personal responsibilities to be addressed. Yes he is fluent in Spanish, developed during his days of wheeling and dealing with the former Cuban Dictator Fulgencio Batista’s exiled family and his days of involvement in the Iran-Contra and Iraq Gate scandals. His friendships with Orlando Bosch Avila a Cuban exile, former Central Intelligence Agency-backed operative, and head of Coordination of United Revolutionary Organizations, which the FBI has described as "an anti-Castro terrorist umbrella organization"
Orlando Bosch was represented by Fulgencio Batista’s grandson Raoul G. Cantero, III who is a Florida lawyer appointed to the Fl;orida Supreme Court in 2002 by Jeb Bush. Cantero is now a former Justice of the Florida Supreme Court who is representing the Florida Legislature with their legal problems on the redistricting debacle.
Let us not forget Jeb Bush’s direct financial connections to one Miguel Recarey (International Medical Centers) [Financed by Tampa, Fl Mob Bosss Santo Traficante, Jr.] for whom HHS Officials testified before congress that when Bush 43 was VP under Reagan his son Jeb Bush called them on behalf of Miguel Recarey to ask them to adjust the Percentages of Medicare Recarey could collect. This resulted in Miguel Recarey being indicted for the largest Medicare Fraud in US history at the time. Recarey fled the country to Spain and is still wanted today.

Then along comes Richard (Rick) Lynn Scott (#65 on Texas Gov George W. Bush’s list of influential donors who can get away with anything) and his partner and Bush insider Richard Rainwater (#10 on Texas Gov George W. Bush’s list of influential donors who can get away with anything) and picked up the pieces which as everyone knows resulted in the second largest Medicare Fraud in US history by Rick Scott’s Columbia/ HCA Medical Centers.

And for all those who think Florida Governor Rick Scott is an outsider, get your head back in the daylight and sniff you some oxygen, even if it’s a little tainted with those chem-trails!

Richard (Rick) Lynn Scott - Texas License Date:11/06/1978 - Bar Card Number:17909700

Partner with Johnson and Swanson –Dallas, TX – Partners with George W. Bush and Tom Hicks (#3 on Texas Gov George W. Bush’s list of influential donors who can get away with anything) in the Texas Rangers. Mysteriously moved from Texas to Florida and around 1987 started acquiring hospitals and over billing Medicare until he was forced out in 1997, but never prosecuted because of his Bus connections.

But with the people with brains enough to understand what is really going on here is two of the most important undeniable evidences available.

Jeb Bush is the driving force behind the national movement for COMMON CORE which is NEW WORLD ORDER PROGRAMMING FOR OUR YOUTH. Obama’s Race to the Top and 2009 stimulus packages are designed to reward school districts to convert without dissension. Do your homework and you will find plenty of evidence of this. You will also find that the required WORLD HISTORY Prentice Hall textbook published by Pearson Publishing leans towards the Muslim faith. You will also find “The Bluest Eye” is required reading by the junior year.

But, perhaps the most revealing mission of Jeb Bush is his massive Charter School conversion movement. Along with the help of his Former Secretary of Education Jim Horne and Florida lawmaker John Thrasher and with his non-profit organizations Jeb Bush has led the way to charter conversions, even pushing “Parent Trigger” which so far has failed to allow unsuspecting parents to help them for local school boards to turn over their schools to private for-profit Charter School management friend of Jeb and friends.

Many of these charter schools are operated by the Gulen movement, a Muslim organization who presently has the highest number of charter schools in the USA. If you do not believe this movement has Bush connections research one Gary Grappo (appointed by Bush 43 as Ambassador to Oman) now organizing Muslim Charter Schools here in Florida, Colorado and other states.

The wolf is at the door! But the wolf is dressed in sheep’s clothing, so how do we know for sure he is the wolf? Offer him something to eat; you can always identify a wolf by their selection from the menu at hand!
