If you want to go back to the size of government pre-Wilson era, then it would be relevent to compare the long silence from Rubio to address the Senate. They weren't passing bills right and left that expands the size and power of the federal government back then nor was our country's economy and possible sovereignty headed to a total meltdown.

Many important and controversial issues have come and gone in the first five months of the 112th without a whisper by Rubio - at least on the Senate floor. This is like a replay of Charlie Crist campaigning for the next position instead of doing his current job.

We are now in two more war fronts (and growing) since Rubio took his oath and yet he would rather wait a half-year before speaking up in the Senate for the people who elected him to office. We already have one empty suit in the Senate from Florida. We don't need two.

Rubio is an ideologue ... and his variety of abject political partisanship has caused a level of political polarization in this country which has been negatively and significantly affecting effective governance since the advent of "The Gingrich Revolution" ... which gave birth to the trend leading to the level of polarization that exists today. (In the end ... even THAT ideologue has gone down in flames!) Rubio is the equivalent of spraying gasoline on a fire that the citizenry needs extinguished ASAP!
