What did you want to be when you were growing up?
I wanted to teach history at the college level.
What do you consider to be your biggest political achievement?
HB 963, which involves the issuing of permits for ports.
What was your biggest political faux pas?
Running against the former speaker of the House's brother.
Who in state government do you most admire?
Rep. Will Weatherford, because I think he has outstanding leadership ability.
Who in all the world do you most admire?
George Washington, because he understood the importance of the unification of the states.
Who is your favorite lawmaker of the opposite party and why?
Rep. Franklin Sands, because he is very practical and a really nice guy.
What do you remember as being your wackiest constituent request?
Two neighbors in my district were having a dispute, and one of them came to me and asked me to straighten the other guy out.
What is your favorite place in the world?
I'd have to say both London and Williamburg, Va. because of their historical significance.
