Seeing Things in Black and White Isn't Always Easy

From the Right Coast
I wish I understood the liberal fascination with skin pigmentation.

Conservatives focus on the content of a person's character, whereas to liberals the most important characteristic is the color of one's skin.

Not exactly what the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. had in mind.

King wanted equal opportunity for those he called Negroes. That exists. He didn't worry about equal outcomes, figuring that would take care of itself. But unequal outcomes are what today's liberals cite as evidence of “racism.” Poppycock.

Why aren't those dedicated to equal outcomes demanding a voting record among blacks that would reflect the population – i.e., “look like America,” – and be close to 50 percent for conservatives and liberals?

Playing the race card is not just something employed on occasion by scoundrels like Al Sharpton. It is a staple in the liberal playbook.

Google “racist Republican” to see how it went viral during the GOP convention, topped with the assertion by one screwball that it is evidence of racism to mention “Chicago.”

I guess that made Frank Sinatra, who proclaimed in song that Chicago was his kind of town, a Klansman.

The best definition of racist as used by liberals may be the one attributed to Thomas Sowell: “A conservative who is winning an argument with a liberal.”

But liberals have a voting bloc they are unwilling to relinquish, no matter how unfair and divisive they have to be.

Why that bloc exists is a mystery. Liberals have done more to destroy black families than to lift them to prosperity. This cannot be passed off as unintended consequences because a leading Democrat, Daniel Patrick Moynihan, warned decades ago that welfare was having that effect.

Government schools, coddled and protected by liberals for the benefit of the teacher unions, are another thing working against black families. Reforms led by conservatives are helping black children but liberals are fighting those reforms with gusto.

There is a growing pool of discontent among black voters over the fact that liberals oppose voucher programs, which help poor black children get an education.

Liberal policies also prevent job growth. Serial job-killer Barack Obama is presiding over the most jobless economy in a half-century.

Education and jobs are the way for more families to succeed and prosper. A few black voters understand this. Having succeeded in spite of the liberal obstacles, they are tired of the condescending attitude of liberals who exploit them, take their vote for granted and imply that their children are incapable of learning unless they are seated next to a white child.

Also, anyone who thinks liberals love people with black skin might want to review what they are saying about an American hero and outstanding member of Congress from Florida, Allen West.

You have to wonder what will happen in a few decades, when most of the population is descended from both whites and blacks, like the president. Most will be Hispanic as well, and another large segment will be of Asian ancestry. How will liberals divide and conquer then?

If foul-mouthed, divisive Allen West is your vision of a role model . . . . well, we understand why you state "Why that bloc exists is a mystery".

Clearly, you don't have a clue.

Maybe talking to someone that's actually a real American military hero, like Gen. Colin Powell, might help in that education.

Allen West is a hero and a tremendous role model. He served in combat. He also sacrificed his career to save the lives of the troops he was responsible for. Now he serves as a representative and promotes policies of freedom and adherence to the Constitution (you know Frank, that document that military officers take an oath to support and defend against all enemies foreign and domestic). He does so under unrelenting attack from liberals like you who think all black people should do as they are told and promote liberalism. You couldn't possibly understand the depth of LTC West's courage and character because, as you demonstrate on a daily (hourly) basis, you are small and obsessed with yourself.

Colin Powell is a hero and a great role model as well. Though I don't agree with his simplistic approval of Obama, he is certainly entitled to his opinion. Trying to exploit GEN Powell to support your petty argument is, how would you say, pathetic.

Frank, you are the one without a clue.

Yes, of course you must be right about Allen West . . .

I guess in your world it never happened that West was EVER criminally charged with violating the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

I guess in your world it never happened that West was EVER found guilty of three counts of aggravated assault.

I guess in your world it never happened that West was EVER relieved of his command.

I guess in your world it never happened that West was EVER fined $5,000.

I guess in your world it never happened that the final Army report EVER stated that West “performed illegal acts…merited court martial…faced 11 years in prison".

Yes, Allen West, clearly a role model.

Congratulations on copying and pasting from wikipedia Frank. Although it is pretty inaccurate to say he was convicted. He went to Captain's Mast (Non Judicial Punishment). He paid a fine and was honorably discharged with full retirement. The military is a pretty PC place just like the rest of the government but any officer I know worth a damn would hope to do the same thing LTC West did in the same situation. I know A LOT of military officers Frank! Sacrificing for others is what makes someone a hero. I guess I shouldn't expect you to understand that.

LTC West = Hero
Frank = something much smaller

Yes, it seems your heros always have to leave the military when their career gets side-tracked by their own actions. Mine didn't.

Allen West is not a role model to be idolized, either for his military career, or for his Congressional representation.

Are you referring to John Paul Jones?? You wikipediaed him too! You are funny Frank!

Forgive him, for he knowth not of what he speaketh.

The reference had nothing to do with your famous namesake - sorry to burst your self-delusional focus on yourself - I guess this is just another indication that you are starting to appear to be obsessed with yourself, in more than one way.

It also appears that I must be getting on your nerves, and you just can't seem to let loose.

As Norman Mailer once put it, "Obsession is the single most wasteful human activity, because with an obsession you keep coming back and back and back to the same question and never get an answer."

Sad . . . . seek help if it continues.

OK I'll play one more time Frank. I find your last comment very interesting. My last comment was actually to lighten the mood a little. Sure, your posts do get on my nerves and occasionally I comment and address it. However, I spend a negligible amount of my time posting on this site compared to you. Obsession? Funny coming from the guy who literally lives on this site and cannot let any utterance go uncommented on. Now let me briefly diagnose you. You take yourself waaaay too seriously. Your constant anger and desire to find personal evil (racism) in any and all who disagree with you cannot be healthy. Additionally, the manner in which you write so confidently that you are right, when you are so off target cannot be healthy either. I'm not sure what the best treatment for that is but maybe you should go see a funny movie or something. Better yet, get involved with an organization like Wounded Warrior Project so you can get some much needed (non-partisan) perspective on life.

Perhaps you might peruse this site at the start of the year when your favorite commenters were discussing the upcoming race wars.

Yes, liberals should just idlely sit by while that type of racist speech prevails. You can say what you want, but I can condemn it. You seem incapable of getting past your partisanship to understand that principle. If nothing else, it's clear that many of those who comment on this site just can't stand having contrary facts, yes facts, thrown back at them when they say something stupid, like Allen West makes a tremendous role model.
