War Party Oligarch

Is the Republican Party's Middle East policy up for bid?

For four days ending Sunday, a quartet of presidential hopefuls trooped to Las Vegas to attend the annual gathering of the Republican Jewish Coalition.

Impresario: Sheldon Adelson, the Vegas-Macau casino mogul whose fortune is estimated at $39 billion -- eighth richest man on the planet -- and who dumped $92 million into the election of 2012.

Adelson kept Newt Gingrich alive with a $15 million infusion of ad money, gutting Romney, and then sank $30 million into Mitt's campaign.

This time Sheldon wants to buy himself a winner.

Ari Fleischer, press secretary to Bush 43, and a member of Adelson's RJC fiefdom, put it plain and simple: "The 'Sheldon Primary' is an important primary. ... anybody running for the Republican nomination would want to have Sheldon at his side."

One such man is Jeb Bush, son and brother to presidents, who was the prize bull at Sheldon's cattle show. Daniel Ruth of the Tampa Bay Times speculates on Jeb's motive in showing up:

"Would you slink into Las Vegas to schmooze gambling mogul Sheldon Adelson who regards GOP presidential nominees as if they were trophy heads mounted in his den, if you had no interest in the White House? Bush is not going to Vegas to catch Meat Loaf's act at Planet Hollywood."

The 2016 presidential hopefuls "are falling at his feet," said a veteran Republican strategist of the 80-year-old oligarch. Each of those who came -- Bush, Chris Christie, and Govs. Scott Walker and John Kasich -- apparently auditioned, one by one, before the godfather.

In 2016, says Adelson's top political adviser Andy Abboud, Sheldon's "bar for support is going to be much higher. ... There's going to be a lot more scrutiny."
Guess that means no more Newts.

Victor Chaltiel, a major donor and Adelson friend who sits on the board of Las Vegas Sands, tells us Sheldon "doesn't want a crazy extremist to be the nominee." Adds Shawn Steel, a big California GOP money man, Sheldon is a "very rational guy."

Perhaps. But last fall at Yeshiva University, this "very rational guy" gave this response to a question from Rabbi Shmuley Boteach on whether he supports U.S. negotiations on Iran's nuclear program:

"No. What do you mean support negotiations? What are we going to negotiate about? What I would say is, 'Listen, you see that desert out there, I want to show you something.' ... You pick up your cellphone and you call somewhere in Nebraska and you say, 'OK let it go.'

"So, there's an atomic weapon, goes over ballistic missiles, the middle of the desert, that doesn't hurt a soul. Maybe a couple of rattlesnakes, and scorpions, or whatever.

"And then you say, 'See! The next one is in the middle of Tehran. So, we mean business. You want to be wiped out? Go ahead and take a tough position and continue with your nuclear development.

"'You want to be peaceful. Just reverse it all, and we will guarantee that you can have a nuclear power plant for electricity purposes, energy purposes.'"

Adelson's response was recorded by Philip Weiss of Mondoweiss website who was at Yeshiva and filmed the interview. Weiss says the audience cheered Adelson's proposed nuclear strike on Iran and no one on the stage, not Wall Street Journal columnist Bret Stephens, peeped a word of dissent.

And this is a "very rational guy," who doesn't want "a crazy extremist to be the nominee"?

This is someone Republican presidential candidates must appease, if they don't want tens of millions in attack ads run against them?

This is someone the Republican presidential hopefuls must hearken to now?

Again, so it would seem.

During his talk before the few dozen members of the RJC, Gov. Chris Christie recounted his recent trip to Israel: "I took a helicopter ride from the occupied territories" and came "to understand the military risk that Israel faces every day."

Christie's effort at bonding boomeranged. An angry Morton Klein of the Zionist Organization of America confronted Christie to demand that he explain just what he meant by "occupied territories."

For half a century, the United States has considered the West Bank occupied land where Israeli settlements are illegal under the Fourth Geneva Convention.

Whatever Christie's response, it did not satisfy the ZOA or Klein who declared: "Either [Christie] doesn't understand the issue, or he's hostile to Israel."

Whereupon Christie, in a private audience with Adelson, apologized.

A source close to Adelson told Politico that Christie made clear "that he misspoke when he referred to the 'occupied territories.' And he conveyed that he is an unwavering friend and committed supporter of Israel, and was sorry for any confusion that came across as a result of the misstatement."

The governor is a tough guy, but this sounds like groveling.

Is this what Republican presidential candidates must do now?

Kowtow to this fattest of fat cats who wants to buy himself an American war on Iran?

Is that what has become of the party of Reagan?

Read My Lips" Backlash
In 1992 Republican challenger Pat Buchanan won 34% of the primary vote in New Hampshire against incumbent President George HW Bush, he even held up a newspaper headline that read "Read Our Lips." A revolt of ”the Republican Party's conservative wing” had begun when Bush reneged on his tax pledge and in 1992 those sentiments threatened to make Bush a one-termer. By breaking his "No New Taxes" pledge, Bush had alienated members of the rapidly growing conservative movement. In a typical election, this revolt may have been limited to the primary season. But with a sizeable portion of conservative voters unhappy with Bush, the time was right for a third-party challenge. Along come Ross Perot, but he was in and he was out…. he said he dropped out because he received death threats. But in the end former Arkansas Governor Bill Clinton won the general election to deny GHW Bush a forth term. Two looking over the shoulder of Ronald Reagan and pulling the strings of among other things Iran-Contra and one starting the first Gulf War against his former Texaco Oil Partner Saddam Hussein.
Now, we learn Bill Clinton is called an adopted son of George HW Bush. We have also learned of connections between Bush (43) and Bill Clinton regarding the Mena Airport in Little Rock, AR.
When one endeavor’s to find out what makes this family tick (besides $$) you will find they have been and continue to be all over the radar screens, for instance - George HW Bush’s father, Prescott Bush, lost his first bid for Senate in Connecticut in 1950 after receiving criticism from a syndicated columnist and church officials over his role in supporting Planned Parenthood. The elder Bush was treasurer of the family planning group’s first national fundraising campaign.
And, now in 2014 it is obvious Jeb Bush and his many non-profits as well as many for-profit connections in the Charter School take over business was the driving force of the COMMON CORE STANDARDS. When one researches CC they find a lot of Muslim intervention in the required reading – they also find a required reading of the 1970 book “the Bluest Eye.” Does this constitute from one extreme to another?

The Bush family has been starting wars for nearly a century
Samuel Prescott Bush (1863 October 4 Brick Church NJ - 1948 February 8 Columbus OH) was the father of Senator Prescott Bush, grandfather of George H. W. Bush and great-grandfather George W. Bush and John Ellis (JEB) Bush. He was the son of the Rev. James Smith Bush.

The Grand Patriarch of the Bush clan founded the Buckeye Steel Castings Company of Ohio in 1894 as The Buckeye Malleable Iron & Coupler Company. They manufactured steel car couplers for trains, truck bodies, bolsters, truck fenders, yokes, and (among other things) made railway parts for the Harrimans. The two families were closely associated at least until the end of World War II. Samuel, as did all the other Industrialists of the time, grew very wealthy and influential.

He was the first president of National Manufacturers Association, and cofounder of Scioto Country Club and Columbus Academy.

The Bush patriarch, Samuel Prescott Bush, who lost his wife in a tragic Rhode Island accident; the Walker patriarch George Herbert Walker, who sometimes seemed to care more for his Bush in-laws than his own children; the famed Democrat, W. Averell Harriman, who saved Prescott Bush from bankruptcy; and Dorothy Walker Bush, a debutante dynamo who married Prescott and forever linked the two families.

In the spring of 1918, Samuel Bush became chief of the Ordnance, Small Arms and Ammunition Section of the War Industries Board of Bernard Baruch and Clarence Dillon, with national responsibility for government assistance to and relations with Remington and other weapons companies. Bush was essentially taking national responsibility for government assistance to his own Remington Arms Company and other weapon makers. Through these weapons manufacturers, Samuel Bush made and sold arms to 75% of the WWI combatants on both sides.
Senate hearings in 1934 by the Nye committee attacked the ‘Merchants of Death’—war profiteers such as Remington Arms and the British Vickers company—whose salesmen had manipulated many nations into war and then supplied weapons to all sides.

Unfortunately most of the records and correspondence of Bush's arms-related section of the government have been burned ‘to save space’ in the National Archives. How convenient...

Almost everybody knows that George W. is the son of the 41st President George Herbert Walker Bush. But fewer know that the family has wielded power in corporate boardrooms and capital corridors for a century and a half. On his mom's side, he's related to Franklin Pierce, the 14th President (1853-57). His dad's paternal grandfather, Samuel Prescott Bush, was an Ohio steel executive and the first president of the National Association of Manufacturers. Samuel's son, Prescott eventually became a Connecticut senator . Prescott's wife, Dorothy, was the daughter of George Herbert Walker, a co-founder of Brown Brothers Harriman, the oldest and largest private investment house on Wall Street. The Walker family helped finance the construction of Madison Square Garden and the Belmont Park racetrack--and later owned a big chunk of the New York Mets"

We've also learned that Prescott Bush was indicted under the Trading With the Enemy Act in

November, 1942, while U.S. troops were under fire in North Africa. It was found that Prescott's firm, the Union Banking Company, was helping arrange loans for the sale of petroleum products to Hitler (Tarpley and Chaitkin 30-46).
Worse, it became apparent that Prescott remained on the boards of directors of a number of companies now known to have engaged in treason in World War II, until 1952 (Bowen 4-11). Allen Dulles remained Prescott Bush's attorney even when it became known in various inner sanctum circles in Washington, D.C, during the war that both he and Forrestal had been found to be such bad security in dealing with the Axis that the Roosevelt Administration had placed them both under surveillance in order to determine if they were engaged in acts damaging to the national security of the United States (Loftus and Aarons 64-73).
Rockefeller kept many of these exposures of treason from having media attention, so that most Americans were not aware of them until the 1990's. Rockefeller was able to take advantage of Israel's need for votes to secure membership in the UN to keep his own role in treason under wraps for nearly 50 years (Loftus and Aarons 270-91). He was able to pressure Jewish intelligence to make a deal with him whereby his own treason was hidden in return for the votes of 20 Latin American nations that Rockefeller basically controlled. Israel needed those twenty votes to secure membership in the UN. In return for covering up Rockefeller's treason, Jewish intelligence got Israeli admission to the UN in 1947.
A number of other high-level persons were also involved in treason during World War II, as Charles Higham points out in his books American Swastika (New York; Doubleday, 1985) and Trading With the Enemy(NY: Delacorte, 1983. 39-42). Among them were Robert Lovett, Artemus Gates, William Stamps Farrish and William Draper. All of these were also associates of Prescott Bush throughout his life.
In addition, George HW Bush's own association with known Nazis and Nazi-sympathizers of World War II has come under increasing scrutiny in the past few years with his ascension to the Vice-Presidency and the White House. As he left the White House in 1993, major allegations were apparent that George had associated for too long and at too great a level of closeness with several known Nazi-sympathizers of World War II, including Lazslo Pasztor, a man who acted as a courier of information for the Nazis during World War II. Bush has also insisted on continuing to associate with Yaroslav Stesko, a known war criminal who headed a Nazi puppet regime in the Ukraine during World War II. During Stesko's administration, thousands of Jews were slaughtered (Bellant 159; Bowen 2-11).
But perhaps more important, from an American viewpoint, is the effect of men like Stesko on the average American soldier in the field in World War II. This is an angle that hasn't been brought out much about this area, but it is one that infuriates me. By making it easier for the Nazis to administer their regime in the Ukraine, Stesko freed up hundreds or perhaps thousands of German troops to fight against and sometimes to kill American GI's in Europe.
It is also important to understand the strategic effects of individuals like Laszlo Pasztor on the German war-making ability. By delivering messages and keeping lines of communication open within the Third Reich, Pasztor helped keep the Germany in the war longer. Some of the

communications he delivered from Hungary, where he was a member of the domestic version of Hungary's Nazi party called the Arrow Cross, apparently facilitated German troop movements in the Balkans and along the Mediterranean at a time when easier troop movements meant lower German casualties--and higher American casualties (Simpson 173-80; Bowen 2-4).
We also now know that Allen Dulles's "Sunrise" negotiations with the Axis in World War II were much more involved than anyone had previously suspected. (Loftus and Aarons 75-80, 99). A big motivating force behind Dulles, they tell us here, was Nelson Rockefeller attempting to avoid prosecution after the war. He didn't completely succeed. In 1947, a federal judge ruled that his company, Standard Oil, had been guilty of treason during the War. Several executives got jail sentences and fines were levied against Rockefeller and his company.
There was a reason. Rockefeller's tankers had fueled Nazi u-boats in the Canary Islands (Higham 36-42). On March 22, 1943, Rockefeller authorized an enemy agent already blacklisted to receive $3668 for legal services in Rio. On April 22, 1943, one of Rockefeller's officers cabled Zurich confirming the shipment of 16.7 tons of fuel to the Axis. In a secret document on June 9, 1943, one of Rockefeller's officers in Venezuela was authorized to continue trading with four enemy corporations to the tune of 13,000 kilos a month (Higham 36-40).
Rockefeller was defiant of FDR's efforts to shut down his sale of oil to the Axis. The Dulles brothers had one of their clients threaten to disrupt the US oil supply during wartime. Besides US Supreme Court Justice Arthur Goldberg, three other members of the US intelligence community insist that Allen Dulles was personally behind the threat to cut of Saudi oil supplies. The Standard Oil Executives made it clear that the entire US war effort was fueled by their oil and it could be stopped. The US Government had no choice but to go along if it wanted to win the War. (Loftus and Aarons 63-7).
According to Charles Higham, by 1939, while Hitler and Japan were building up their armaments and Americans were dangerously short of rubber and the armed services were hard put to complete wheels for planes, tanks and armored cars, Rockefeller made a deal with Hitler whereby he could obtain certain kinds of Standard Oil artificial rubber while American would get nothing (Higham 36). And Senator Harry Truman's Committee learned in 1942 that Standard Oil had sent cables to Japan in 1941 asserting that its trade with Japan would continue whether or not America went to war with them (Higham 42-53).
Further, according to Higham, on January 28, 1944, Britain forbade the sale of further petroleum products to Spain, since it had been learned that oil sent to Fascist Spain went to Germany. Roosevelt soon joined Britain's ban. But on May 2, 1944, Rockefeller's Standard Oil succeeded in pressuring FDR to allow it to again sell oil to Fascist Spain. As a result, 48,000 tons a month of American oil began to flow back to the Nazis (Higham 58-62).
Prescott had to know of some of this, since his banking firm did regular business with Standard Oil and his attorney, Allen Dulles, was on its Board of Directors. Prescott}{\plain \f1 \'92s steamship line had extensive contacts with the Nazis, as well. It had provided free trips for German Nazis to the US for a meeting of a Fascist eugenics group in which Prescott Bush was a member throughout World War II (Bowen 2-11) and Prescott had an attorney on staff who

continued to do bond business with the Nazis until November 1942, apparently stopping doing so only because he was indicted by the US government (Tarpley and Chaitkin 34-40). Only a few months earlier, in September 1941, Rockefeller had his tankers refuel Nazi submarines that were sinking American ships in the North Atlantic and with which it was widely known the US was involved in an undeclared war. (Higham 35-6). Rockefeller also accepted $11 million in bonds directly from Hermann Goering in 1940, and the two initialed off on an agreement whereby Nazi Germany was authorized to continue to exploit Standard Oil's Rumanian oil, whether or not America came into the war. (Higham 34-60. See also Bella Kissh's unpublished thesis on this, 1984--full reference can be located at the Annotated Bibliography file on this Website: Go to Annotated Bibliography). Thus, Prescott's insider knowledge of, yet continuing partnership and business association with, Rockefeller and his firm, makes some other subsequent events look suspicious after this May 2, 1944 reshipment of oil to the Nazis via Spain and those cables to Japan of 1941. For, on May 15, 1944, Prescott's son George HW Bush flew his first combat mission in the Pacific against the Japanese. Given this backdrop, one must wonder why he was even there.

Prescott S. Bush hardly seemed destined to lead a political dynasty when he arrived in Massachusetts in the 1920s. Nothing about his circumstances foreshadowed that his descendants would include two Republican presidents. Here was the young Bush, struggling to run a Braintree rubber factory while receiving little financial help from his wealthy father, a Democrat.

But another figure loomed in Bush's life: his father-in-law, George Herbert Walker, a powerful and much-feared financier who also happened to be a die-hard Republican. With Walker's intervention, Bush soon left the unglamorous factory to become one of the most successful bankers on Wall Street and, eventually, and Republican senator from Connecticut.

In time, the sons of these men would tie the Bush-Walker bonds even tighter. George H.W. Bush, Prescott Bush's son and eventually the 41st president, received hundreds of thousands of dollars in investment money at a crucial moment, from Walker's son. Without the Walker money, without the extraordinary Walker devotion, there might well never have been two Presidents Bush.

The English-bred Bushes and the Scottish Walkers both arrived in New England before the American Revolution. The Bushes made their fortune in the steel plants and railroads of Ohio, while the Walkers flourished in finance in Missouri.

As certifiable Brahmins, both families returned to New England for long summer vacations, formed their bond in the seaside resort of Kennebunkport, Maine, and later lived side by side for decades in the moneyed New York City suburb of Greenwich, Conn. Like so many dynasties, this one was built with fortunes won, and nearly lost, that were then applied to the pursuit of political power.

The first Gulf War, the Iraq War, the Afghanistan War (where troops come home and say they were basically guarding the poppy fields) [Matthew 24:6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars.]
