Will Weatherford's 'No' Does Nothing to End Speculation on a Rick Scott Challenge

When asked if he has any plans to challenge Gov. Rick Scott in the 2014 GOP primary, Florida House Speaker Will Weatherford mostly said no -- mostly -- but he didn't emphatically rule it out.

I Beg to Differ
Weatherford said he's too busy right now going into the 2013 legislative session to think of such things. He and Scott are friends, Scott is doing a good job, and besides, they agree on most things anyway, Medicaid expansion excepted.

Not an "absolutely, positively not interested," Mr. Speaker.

Failing to provide that kind of certainty juices up oddsmakers' gossip around town and invites a reporters' stampede every time the popular speaker offers himself for questions. See for yourself in the video below.

And you thought this session wouldn't be as much fun as the last one?

The geniuses in the leadership of the House and Senate, who think they own the state of Florida (in conjuction with donors of means...not the grassroots) are in the process of convincing themselves they cannot retain the Governorship with rick Scott. I believe their arrogance will win out over common sense and they will challenge Scott (probably Putnam) and they will lose the governorship and probably further erode the leads they have in both houses.

If they do this, it is probable that Democrats would have a good chance of taking back one of the chambers in the next 8 years IMHO.

there isn't a nickel's worth of difference between the two. the diversion of public money to private interests, being the main concern for both.
